As many of us know this year is going to be insane for new releases and just now Apple announced a bunch of exciting products so let’s talk about them.
The All-New MacBook Air (M4)
Starting with the best valued new Macbook around the MacBook Air Apple held back no punches with this one because not only is this year’s MacBook Air more powerful it’s also cheaper. It supports the M4 chip which can outclass a lot of processors and can do nearly everything any student or casual user would need but it also now has compatibility with up to two external displays plus it’s built in one which is incredible a big upgrade from the last generation.
But that’s not all Apple was on a roll because this MacBook Air starts with 16 GB of RAM thank goodness finally. The laptop also brings in a new color sky blue which is interesting no more space gray and unfortunately though the laptop still does only start with 256 GB of storage for both of its size options the 13 or 15in versions.
What makes up for that is the price. The 2025 MacBook Air starts at $999 which is incredible. This makes the laptop so well valued especially in today’s market not to mention other need features for the MacBook Air coming in such as center stage and what’s even better is despite this very low price you can drop it even further by using your student discount to get it down to as low as $899.
So for all of you MacBook Air fans which be many college students and Casual Mac users you’re in for an affordable treat because Apple really knocked it out of the park with this one. The laptop is a direct upgrade from last year and doesn’t increase its price no it drops it. This seems to be a must buy for consumers if the reviewers give it High Praise we’ll see once this laptop officially releases March 12th.
The Mac Studio and the M3 Ultra Chip
Next up is the Mac Studio which is a bit of an odd device just like with the other Mac Studios you have the option to choose the max variant of the newest Apple chipset or the ultra. However this new Max studio does not run the M4 Ultra no it uses the M3 Ultra the newest Ultra chip made by Apple and this is just strange.
I’m surprised that Apple decided to not just call it the M4 Ultra because having it be named the M3 Ultra just seems almost like a downgrade from the M4 Max. It’s just odd to me but I think one reason why Apple didn’t call this the M4 Ultra is because the company couldn’t get the chip to be just two M4 Max chips put together like how the other Ultra chips were or maybe the company is holding off on the M4 Ultra for the Mac Pro.
Either way despite this weird situation the Mac Studio does look really promising with it’s crazy up to 512 GB of RAM to be configured but it looks to be a good computer. I feel like apple should have just held out until the M4 ultra is ready but that’s just me.
iPad Air and iPad 10 Updates
Next is the iPad Air which received a bump in its performance with the tablet receiving the M3 chip from M2 so it should be a bit faster up to an alleged 20% performance boost though I doubt most people have been asking for Speed bumps with their iPads. This tablet also got a new cheaper magic keyboard. The real showstopper for me though would have been a better battery or water resistance. I still can cannot believe iPads don’t have official water resistance yet it is such a useful feature if you’re ever outside and it’s raining but I digress.
Getting an upgrade in performance for no cost increase for the iPad Air is great a wonderful purchase for those in the market a product I’d honestly recommend for many of you. However there is just one other iPad that I might recommend over the iPad Air depending on your budget and needs the iPad 10 which has a similar design to the iPad Air but has a much better price starting at $350 compared to the iPad Air $600 price tag.
The starter iPad now Sports the a16 bionic chip found in the iPhone 14 pro meaning it’s still really fast especially for an iPad and now it comes with 128 GB compared to the previous 64 excellent. I think this really UPS the starter iPad in a good way. Apple has pretty much always had a good foothold on the tablet Market but by keeping the starter iPad quite competitive with its especially the storage upgrade just makes things better for us consumers so this is a good upgrade here’s hoping it’s just as we hope.
