The iPhone 13 Pro has Apple Pro Motion technology, or 120Hz refresh rate. Essentially, you get a phone that looks almost twice as fast as the standard iPhone 13. If your eyes can see the difference. And, its refresh rate is automatically adjusted, leading to, allegedly, better battery life.
Speaking of which, both phones have incredible battery lives, But, the iPhone 13 Pro edges the standard out by about an hour.
Internal Specifications
For internal specs, both phones come with the A15 Bionic Chip which is lightning fast and one of the best phone processors out there so far. The 13 Pro does have a little bit more RAM and a slightly better GPU than the standard 13, but those are “negligible” upgrades.

And, lastly, for cameras, the iPhone 13 comes with a standard wide camera and an ultrawide. The 13 Pro kicks that up a notch by adding a Telephoto lens, which results in better zoom-in photos. And the 13 Pro has a LIDAR scanner for 3D imaging. Both phones also have different colors, but I don’t think that should be too big of a factor.
The Verdict: Is the iPhone 13 Pro Worth the Extra Money?
And that’s everything. Two extremely similar phones that are only differentiated by really 2 notable factors and a few minor things. So, is it worth spending the extra money for the iPhone 13 Pro? Well, that depends on you.
Although the 13 Pro has a little more RAM, a slightly better GPU, and battery life, really the main focus is on the extra camera and 120Hz refresh rate. So, are you a professional? Or someone who really needs a better camera or faster-looking phone? Or, do you just want an iPhone that you can use for typical day-to-day activities, such as scrolling through YouTube and TikTok, texting, or posting on Instagram?.
This is important to consider because you’re paying an extra $200 for something that you might not even benefit from having. Even a photographer probably won’t be using the extra telephoto lens that comes with the 13 Pro just to zoom in a little bit. And I would extend that theory to a normal person as well. It’s nice to be able to zoom in with your camera and get some good clarity on short distances, but how often will you be doing that?. Additionally, the 120Hz refresh rate is cool, but is it $200.00 worth of cool?.
Final Recommendation
Because of these reasons, for most people, I would recommend getting the: the iPhone 13. It really has everything you need at a somewhat reasonable price. But, if you want the latest and greatest tech or just the clout with having the pricey iPhone, with 120Hz refresh rate and a nicer camera system, get the: iPhone 13 Pro. It’s cool, I’ll admit, but it’s a little expensive.
